Bio Data
James Blunt is an English singer, songwriter and musician whose career has spanned more than two decades. He first came to prominence with his 2004 debut album, Back to Bedlam, which became a huge international success and included the multi-platinum global hit “You’re Beautiful.”
Before beginning his music career, Blunt served in the British Army and was deployed to Kosovo as part of a NATO peacekeeping force. After leaving the army in 2002, he began performing and developing his career as a musician.
His success continued with a series of albums, including All the Lost Souls, Some Kind of Trouble, Moon Landing, The Afterlove, Once Upon a Mind and Who We Used to Be. His music has produced major songs including “Goodbye My Lover,” “1973,” “Stay the Night,” “Bonfire Heart” and “Monsters.”
In 2021, he released The Stars Beneath My Feet, a greatest-hits collection celebrating the first 17 years of his recording career. His later album, Who We Used to Be, explored themes including relationships, fatherhood, ageing and loss.
Beyond music, Blunt is known for his distinctive humour and outspoken personality, particularly through social media. His official biography also highlights his long-standing connection with Ibiza and his friendship with the late actress and writer Carrie Fisher.
